Dr. Ragavendra R. Baliga

Dr. Ragavendra R. Baliga, Co-founder and Director

Dr. Ragavendra R. Baliga, MBBS, DNB, MD, MBA, FRCP (Edin), FACC is an esteemed physician-scientist specializing in Cardiovascular Medicine. He is a product of three continents. He serves as a Professor at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Cardiology at St. John’s Medical College. With a distinguished career focused on cardiovascular disease, heart failure, cardiac transplantation, precision medicine, and cardio-oncology, Dr. Baliga has made significant contributions through both medical research and teaching. He has served as editor of multiple medical and cardiology textbooks and on the editorial board of several journals, including the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, Global Heart Journal, and Heart Failure Clinics of North America.

Driven by a vision to address the disparities in healthcare data, Dr. Baliga co-founded the Exactitude Medical Foundation along with his wife Jayashree. The foundation aims to generate robust data from the Global South, which is crucial for advancing precision medicine. By focusing on underrepresented populations, Dr. Baliga seeks to ensure that medical advancements and treatments are not only inclusive and equitable but also tailored to the genetic and environmental contexts of diverse patient groups worldwide. CA. Jayashree Baliga, Co-founder

Jayashree Baliga, CA, MBA (Cranfield), is a distinguished CPA and Chartered Accountant, known for her exceptional expertise in financial management and strategic planning. She is also a product of three continents. With a career marked by integrity and excellence, she has made significant contributions to the field of accounting and finance, providing invaluable guidance to various organizations. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Jayashree is actively involved in community service. She serves on the Board of Asha Ray Hope Columbus, a non-profit organization dedicated to victims of domestic abuse. She also co-founded the Indian Women’s Collaboration, a non-profit dedicated to advocating for women’s rights and supporting their socio-economic development.

Motivated by a vision to address healthcare disparities, Jayashree co-founded the Exactitude Medical Foundation. Her goal is to generate critical data from the Global South, a region often overlooked in medical research. By leveraging her financial acumen and unwavering commitment to social impact, Jayashree aims to support the advancement of precision medicine, ensuring that medical treatments are informed by diverse genetic and environmental factors, ultimately fostering inclusive and equitable healthcare solutions worldwide. Her dedication to social impact is an inspiration to all who seek to make a difference in the world. Along with their children Anoop and Neena Baliga and her brothers Jaiprakash Kamath and Jairam Kamath, she has contributed substantial seed money to establish this foundation.

His expertise spans legal, regulatory, epidemiological, and medical writing, making him a pivotal asset in the realm of clinical research. At Exactitude, Dr. Sigamani is committed to guiding the founders in achieving their vision of building a comprehensive biobank.

This biobank aims to enhance our understanding of the genetic profiling of various populations in India, facilitating the development of personalized interventions for chronic illnesses. His extensive background and leadership in clinical research will be instrumental in driving this groundbreaking initiative forward.
